TAHOE IS RUNNING OUT OF TIME. WILDFIRE WILL NOT WAIT.
The Caldor and Tamarack fires were a final warning. In 2021 alone, Lake Tahoe lost over $400 million in property and tourism, forced a full evacuation, and came within hours of catastrophe.
The next fire could cost us everything.
BY THE NUMBERS
The threat to Tahoe is real.

40 - 60 MINUTES TOO LATE
Currently, our nearest compatible night flying Type 1 helicopters are located in Columbia, CA (40 mins.) and Vina, CA (60 mins.) - if they are available.

1,000,000+ ACRES OF FUEL
Over one million acres of wildfire fuel surrounding the Tahoe Basin create immense risk.

$45 BILLION DOLLARS
At risk, $45B in real estate and $6B in annual tourism revenue, threatened by wildfires.
NORTH SHORE WILDFIRE THREAT SIMULATION
This wildfire modeling simulated a hypothetical scenario in which three lightning strikes occurred overnight in the Tahoe Basin on September 3, 2021, reflecting typical convective conditions when moist air collides with dry fuels.
In the modeled scenario, nearly 10,000 homes were projected to be destroyed, 5,600 residents displaced, and smoke severely reduced visibility, significantly complicating firefighting efforts, particularly in Incline Village, within the first 10 hours.
A DECISIVE, IMMEDIATE RESPONSE
A Tahoe-Based Night-Flying Type 1 Helicopter
Immediate Response
Launches in under six minutes, day or night

Water Storage
Delivers up to 1,000 gallons of water per aerial drop

Deliver Ground Crew
Deploys a seven-person elite firefighting crew

A dedicated night-flying Type 1 helicopter in the Tahoe Basin would suppress small fires before they escalate into regional disasters.
